NY HASTINGS — Hastings Town Board unanimously approves $330,000 equipment financing and schedules tax-override hearing. Supervisor Tony Bush reported a serious buyer for the long-dormant CNY Raceway property, with the state Department of Environmental Conservation agreeing to expedite permits and not transfer DEC liens to the new owner. The board also unanimously approved lease and water supply agreements with the Onondaga County Water Authority and authorized a pay rate increase for part-time seasonal staff.
Board members discussed the town's solar-farm moratorium, noting that solar facilities generate only about $1,500 in annual tax revenue compared with housing or commercial development, and that demand for the town's HUB after-school programs has outpaced capacity.
