Hastings Town Board authorizes $74.7M sewer district

NY HASTINGS — Hastings Town Board approves major sewer infrastructure project. The five-member board unanimously backed a bond resolution authorizing up to $19.7 million in bonds for a comprehensive South Central Sanitary Sewer District project estimated at $74.7 million, with a planned useful life of 40 years. The project will include new sewer mains, service laterals, decommissioning of existing private septic tanks, installation of grinder pumps, and collection system pump stations.
The town is pursuing state and federal grant assistance through the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation's revolving loan programs to offset costs.
